About Us

Digital Rights Lawyers Initiative (DRLI) is a non-profit organization and network of lawyers dedicated to the promotion, protection, and enforcement of digital rights in Nigeria and across Africa. Founded in 2019, DRLI was established in response to the growing need for strategic legal interventions at the intersection of law, technology, human rights, privacy, and digital governance. The organization advances digital rights through litigation, advocacy, research, and capacity-building, working to ensure that individuals and communities can safely and freely enjoy their rights in the digital age.

Since its inception, DRLI has become one of Nigeria’s leading voices in digital rights litigation, contributing to landmark legal developments in areas such as data protection and privacy, freedom of expression online, digital identity, access to the internet, cyber regulation, and emerging technology governance. Through strategic court actions, policy engagement, legal education, and collaboration with stakeholders, DRLI seeks to strengthen accountability and promote a rights-respecting digital ecosystem.
